This guide will walk you through the process of sharing a file with another student or faculty member through Google Drive
Sharing a Google Drive File with an Individual
Step 1: Log into your Google account and navigate to your Google Drive
Step 2: Open the file that you want to share
Step 3a: Click on share at the top right corner of the page if you are in a Google formatted file (e.g. Google docs, Google sheets, Google forms, etc.
Note: This option is only available for documents that can be edited in Google (e.g. Google docs, Google sheets, Google slides, etc.) Please see Sharing Other Files for instructions on how to share PDFs, videos, JPEGs, and other non-Google documents.
Step 3b: Right-click on the file in the Drive and select Share from the drop-down menu.
Step 4: To invite an individual, add their emails into the text box. If inviting multiple individuals, add each email separately.
Important Note: When sharing files with faculty or staff, the email addresses should include @naz.edu. When sharing files with students, the email address should include @mail.naz.edu in order to provide access in your course!
Step 5: Click the access field and set the level of access desired for the collaborators (if needed). This will allow you to determine viewer or editor access.
Step 6: Enter details in the text field if you wish to include additional information in the sharing email (optional).
Step 7: Click Send to share finalize the share setting. This will send an email notification to the users about the shared file.
