Resolving Barracuda Virtual Adapter Not Ready Error

Overview

When attempting to connect to the college via the Barracuda VPN client, the end user is presented with the error message "Barracuda Virtual Adapter Not Ready" and the connection fails. After attempting a repair installation of the Barracuda VPN client, if the error persists, perform the following:

  • Right click on the taskbar, select Taskbar settings
  • Scroll through the Taskbar settings page and click on Select which icons appear on the taskbar 
  • Scroll down until you see Barracuda Network Access Client and move the slider to the right (this is to make the task easier)

Once the Barracuda icon is visible in the taskbar, right-click on the icon and hover over "Troubleshooting" and then left-click on "Repair VPN adapter"

(Note: you will be prompted for Admin credentials)

After repairing the Barracuda Virtual Adapter, should the connection fail test it with an account (e.g. your account) to make sure that the connection is working properly. Should their be any other issues, check the user's membership in the VPN OU and/or their user account in AUTHX.
